Prayer of Confession (In unison)

Almighty God, still this world causes Christ to suffer but He loves and lives where even hope has died. We are sorry for the failures we carry before you, for the pain we have inflicted. We are ashamed that we do not love without bounds, that we do not pray without ceasing, that we will not forgive, that we do not stop injustice, and that we retreat in fear and do not trust without limit. Forgive us when we do not em-brace the beauty and pleasure of your gifts to us. Please hear our silent confes-sions...

(In unison) Lord help us to live into the living Christ, to feel the spirit, to hear the call, to live the truth. Amen.

Hymns

 Christ is Alive #246  Return

Christ is alive! Let Christians sing. The cross stands empty to the sky.

 Let streets and homes with praises ring. Love, drowned in death, shall never die.

Christ is alive! No longer bound to distant years in Palestine,

 but saving, healing, here and now, and touching every place and time.

In every insult, rift and war where color, scorn, or wealth divide,

 Christ suffers still, yet loves the more, and lives, where even hope has died.

Women and men, in age and youth, can feel the Spirit, hear the call,

 and find the way, the life, the truth, revealed in Jesus, freed for all.

Christ is alive, and comes to bring good news to this and every age, till earth and sky and ocean ring with joy, with justice, and love and praise.

In the Bulb, There is a Flower #250.   Return

In the bulb, there is a flower; in the seed an apple tree;

 in cocoons, a hidden promise: butterflies will soon be free!

 In the cold and snow of winter there’s a spring that waits to be,

 unrevealed until its season, something God alone can see.

There’s a song in every silence, seeking word and melody;

 there’s a dawn in every darkness, bringing hope to you and me.

 From the past will come the future; what it holds, a mystery,

 unrevealed until its season, something God alone can see.

In our end is our beginning; in our time, infinity;

 in our doubt there is believing; in our life, eternity.

 In our death, a resurrection; at the last, a victory,

 unrevealed until its season, something God alone can see.

Christ is Risen! Shout Hosanna! #248   Return

Christ is risen! Shout Hosanna! Celebrate this day of days!

Christ is risen! Hush in wonder: all creation is amazed.

In the desert all surrounding, see, a spreading tree has grown.

 Healing leaves of grace abounding bring a taste of love unknown.

Christ is risen! Raise your spirits from the caverns of despair.

 Walk with gladness in the morning. See what love can do and dare.

 Drink the wine of resurrection, not a servant, but a friend.

 Jesus is our strong companion. Joy and peace shall never end.

Christ is risen! Earth and heaven nevermore shall be the same.

 Break the bread of new creation where the world is still in pain.

 Tell its grim, demonic chorus: “Christ is risen! Get you gone!”

God the First and Last is with us. Sing Hosanna everyone!
